Services for Architectural Millwork Shops

I have been involved in the Architectural Woodwork Institute's Quality Standards Specifications since 1989. In 1996 I had the honor of being chosen to be an AWI Quality Certification Program Representative. This is a select group of about 20  people from throughout the country. We have been tested on our knowledge of architectural millwork and the AWI Quality Standards and have been selected to represent the Quality Certification Program. I am currently participating on the following AWI committees:

• LEED Task Force
• Quality Standard Board of Review for the 9th Edition
• QCP Board of Review.

Additionally I have worked for two top AWI Millwork shops in the Albany area in the capacity as Project Manager. In 8 years of service I worked on many prestigious projects in many states.

• Prepare take offs for bidding purposes. I can provide take off quantities only. Or, if you prefer, you can provide me the unit pricing you use (confidentiality guaranteed) and I can provide a complete bid tailored to your shop and your overhead structure. All of my take offs are done on Microsoft Excel.
• Prepare just in time and manufacturing schedules using Details Software,  Microsoft Project/ Excel.
• Prepare  door and finish hardware schedules using Details Software or Microsoft Excel. I can provide detailed machining schedules fully coordinated and ready for your shop.
• Prepare subcontract requests and scopes. Installation? Specialty metals? Electrical? Stone? Your project may require buy outs or coordination with suppliers. I will prepare bid documents and provide negotiation, inspection and contract services.
• I will preview the project with your drafting department. Provide them with details on the specifications and shop drawing format instruction. Then review and correct the shop drawings prior to submittal. I  prepare submittal and coordination packages that get approved the first time !
• Field dimensions are critical to the success of your project. I am very accurate and can clearly communicate to your drafting department all of the needed site information. Because of my diverse construction background I understand the need for site coordination with other trades. When I take field dimensions I look for all possibilities of conflict with other trades. I document the problem and advise the proper personnel of the corrections needed.
• I will provide supervision for installation crews. A well managed site can save numerous dollars and time on your project. I provide very accurate documentation of all site activities. I have many years of experience on both union and non-union job sites.
• Verification of stored materials and job site inspection for billing approval. I can provide an accurate schedule of values at the beginning of your project and monitor installation percentages for payment applications throughout the course of your project.
• I can prepare as-builts and owner maintenance manuals at the end of your project and take surveys and schedules of existing conditions before the bid or for Change Order purposes.
• I can provide complete computerized project documentation throughout your project. I  provide spreadsheets for RFQ's, Change Orders, Requisitions, Document Control, etc.
• Provide examination and inspection of millwork related problems. Define causes and suggest recommendations for corrective measures. Act as expert witness in legal proceedings. Prepare materials for attorneys in litigation.
