June 2008

The project is about to start once school ends for the summer. Focus will be on asbestos abatement, asbestos abatement monitoring, new ceilings and work on plumbing in the crawl space.

 

July 2008

The general contractor is working on painting the classroom ceiling exposed structural steel. The general contractor has removed the corridor ceilings in the elementary wing and the 5th and 6th grade wings as well as the corridor by the library and cafeteria.

The electrician is suspending lights and fixtures in the corridors.

 

The abatement contractor is working on asbetsos pipe insulation removal in the high school wing.

 

August 2008

 

The abatement work is completed.

 

Most of the ceilings in the elementary wing and fifth and sixth grade wings are completed. They will all be completed for when school starts. Most of the corridor ceilings will remian open until the heat project nears completion. The electrical contractor is following the ceiling crew and adjusting the lights for the new ceilings.

The removal work in the crawl space is ongoing. The section of sanitary piping has been replaced. The storm piping is ongoing. The electric work has not started yet.

 

November 2008

The ceiling replacement project is ongoing. The general contractor and the electrical contractors are getting all the ceilings done that do not have new heat units above the ceilings. The heating contractor is laying out and preparing to install new heat piping. The duct work contractor is also doing layout and planning.
